Emo

Emo (pronounced /ˈiːmoʊ/) is a style of rock music typically characterized by melodic musicianship and expressive, often confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid-1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington, D.C., where it was known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore" and pioneered by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace. As the style was echoed by contemporary American punk rock bands, its sound and meaning shifted and changed, blending with pop punk and indie rock and encapsulated in the early 1990s by groups such as Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate. By the mid 1990s numerous emo acts emerged from the Midwestern and Central United States, and several independent record labels began to specialize in the style.

Emo broke into mainstream culture in the early 2000s with the platinum-selling success of Jimmy Eat WorldDashboard Confessional and the emergence of the subgenre "screamo". In recent years the term "emo" has been applied by critics and journalists to a variety of artists, including multiplatinum acts and groups with disparate styles and sounds.

In addition to music, "emo" is often used more generally to signify a particular relationship between fans and artists, and to describe related aspects of fashion, culture, and behavior. and

Hard Rock Rules

The hard rock is actually a natural evolution of the music of the era (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who...) by both the technique in sound. It is characterized by theuse of a basic trio consists of a saturatedguitar, abass guitar and drums. Add to this a certain aggressiveness, while remaining close to the roots blues and rock. The sound ofelectric guitars used in hard rock is "saturated. " This is a sound rich inharmonics, which gives an impression of powerand aggression. Saturation was originally obtained through the volume of the amplifier of theelectric guitar up, causing signal clipping: the electrical signal can not exceed a maximumvalue and is thereforetruncated, which causesdistortion sound. Jimi Hendrix was working withhis engineer to create new sounds bychangingthe electronics, this gave birth to electronic devices to alter the sound without damaging the amplifier

Heavy metal

Heavy metal (or metal commonly) is a kind of rock emerged in the United Kingdom and the United States in the late 1960s. The heavy metal band draws its inspiration, between 1969 and 1974 in groups of Hard rock, combining blues and rock, have created a hybrid sounding heavy and thick, centered on the pulse of the drums and guitar distortion highly amplified.

Over the years, heavy metal has spawned sub-genres, and although they are generally called "metal" by the general public, the term "heavy metal" now has two distinct meanings: either the genus and all its variants, is the original style of the groups of the 1970s and 1980s - sometimes dubbed "traditional heavy metal." Thus, the definition of the term tends to be ambiguous and is not the same as the period of rock history to which we refer.

* In the 1970s, the term "heavy metal" (popularized by critic Lester Bangs) was synonymous with hard rock, genre he still sometimes equated in the popular subconscious. The first groups - like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Blue Cheer, Iron Butterfly - were equally considered as groups of heavy metal or hard rock.

* In the early 1980s, the term was redefined by Lester Bangs shortly before his death: there is a subtle difference between hard rock and heavy metal, residing mainly in the fact that the heavy metal tends to get rid of the blues roots while the Hard Rock are kept. With this definition, which prevails today, only traditional heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest can be seen as precursors of the aesthetic and the specific sound of heavy metal.

The heavy metal was popularized in the 1970 and 1980, as and when measuring the appearance of its sub-genres, and is always in the 2000s a strong enthusiasm from fans around the world

Neo MetaL Or Nù Metal

The neo metal is a musical genre combining elements from alternative rock and heavy metal, is sometimes written "nu metal" with the umlaut widely used in heavy metal in the names of bands like Motörhead, Blue Öyster Cult, Mötley Crüe and Queensrÿche. Among the precursors of his albums that will characterize the bare metal, we can cite the "Black Album" Metallica (1991), or certain productions Sepultura, especially "Chaos AD" (1993) and with Pantera's "Cowboys From Hell" (1990). Neo metal as a musical movement will emerge clean from the combined influence that will produce the album releases such as: * The group's eponymous album in 1994 KoЯn. * "Adrenaline" group Deftones in 1995. It appears on the media scene in the early 90s, mainly under the impetus of the group KoЯn. Influenced by groups as diverse as Faith No More, The Cure, Depeche Mode or Rage Against The Machine, this music is characterized by its heavy riffs, saturated and severe (guitars, sometimes 7 strings are often given a half or a lower tone and distortion are sometimes supported by a flanger effect), a groovy bass (sometimes slap), all floated by a powerful voice and angry. Many major groups like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Slipknot will follow this path a few years later

The Death Metal

The Death Metal is a genre of music changed, the following characteristics does not necessarily apply to all artists or albums. Among the commonly recognized features of the genre include the words generally violent or dark in nature that use death as a nihilistic metaphor (although, more recently, the lyrics more focused on philosophy, such as group Death, have also become popular), chromatic progressions and song structure narrative (presented as a story) that uses a continuous development of themes and motifs rather than a cycle of verses and choruses. The genre is often identified with his rhythm guitar given below (often in D), percussion fast with frequent use of double bass drums, and dynamic intensity. The blast beats are often used to add to the ferocity of the music. Vocal techniques used are almost always serious throat singing called grunts, growls, growl or even death. This kind of song is created by using the gut and throat, unlike traditional songs that discourage this technique. Some consider these songs as a style of overtone singing. Because of the similarity of this technique with that of the character wolverine Macaron ("Cookie Monster" in English) on Sesame Street, this singing style is sometimes so called parody "Cookie Monster vocals" in Anglo-Saxon (literally "the Cookie Monster vocal technique

").
